Videos publicados por personas presentes en la Cena de Corresponsales muestra que un hombre sin camisa fue sometido por agentes federales luego del incidente de seguridad.
Horas después de que se escucharon tres balazos, según periodistas corresponsales que asistieron a la cena, el presidente Donald Trump informó que el tirador fue detenido por agentes federales.
Las grabaciones muestran a agentes federales rodeando al presunto responsable del tiroteo al interior del hotel Hilton, en Washingtonquien está boca abajo, en el suelo y sin camisa.
Horas después de su evacuación de la Cena de Corresponsalesel presidente Donald Trump aseguró que el tirador llevaba varias armas y agregó que se trata de “una persona muy enferma”.
Durante su conferencia de prensa tras el incidente de seguridad ocurrido en el hotel Washington Hilton, donde se celebró la Cena de Corresponsales 2026Trump aseguró que tanto él como su esposa, Melania Trump, el vicepresidente JD Vance y otros funcionarios de primer nivel que asistieron al evento resultaron ilesos.
Trump también compartió una serie de imágenes que muestran el momento de la detención y la persecución del sospechoso del tiroteo.

Trump compartió dos imágenes que muestran al sospechoso tendido en el suelo, boca abajo y sin ropa, mientras está custodiado por agentes de las fuerzas de seguridad tras ser sometido.
El vídeo capta al joven corriendo por los pasillos del hotel donde se celebraba el evento. En la secuencia, se observa a un agente de seguridad abrir fuego en dirección al sospechoso.
Hasta ahora, los videos son inconclusos respecto al desenlace de los disparos, ya que el individuo sale del ángulo de visión de la cámara en el momento en que el agente responde a la situación, impidiendo confirmar si resultó herido de bala en ese instante preciso.
